We use sound, sane training procedures based on general dressage principles to help you achieve your goals.  My 20 years of experience handling hundreds of horses of all different breeds and working with many wonderful mentors has taught me that, like people, all horses are not the same.  You have to work with each horse's personality as an individual.  That said, I believe that there are certain methods that work, and those that don't. The difference is in reading the horse's personality and applying tried and true, consistent training techniques, with a bit of tweaking if necessary to match the horse's individuality and achieve the goals you desire.  All are started with general dressage training (solid, universal good training).  We then continue their training based on the specific discipline that is right for you and your horse.  We will also guide the owner towards the right discipline for your horse . . . Arabians especially are so varied that you may be dreaming of an English Pleasure horse, while your horse is actually more suited to be a hunter.  We will be honest and upfront about our thoughts and work out a plan that works for you. 

 

If you prefer to do your own training with the assistance of an instructor, we have that capability.  Our certified instructor can give you a detailed plan for progression with continued lessons to keep you on the right track and help you to sensibly and consistantly work with your horse.  Of course, we prefer that you board here, but we are open to trucking in or we could also make arrangements to go to you, providing the distance is not excessive and you have an appropriate working area for your lessons.

 

Our trainer has worked with many breeds of horses ranging from Arabians, Half Arabians, Friesians, Quarter Horses and Warm Bloods, along with the occassional Morgan, Saddlebred or Hackney pony.  We work especially well with the more sensitive breeds, but successfully work with many different owners and all breeds.  We have sucessfully trained and competed hunters on the flat, dressage horses, saddleseat, western, driving and halter horses at up to the regional level.  You will find our trainer compassionate to your needs, yet able to keep you focused on your goals.
