Have you ever heard the saying, "the student is only as good as their teacher"? Here at Moonlite Equestrian
Center, we honestly believe that to be true. We believe so strongly in this concept in fact, that we
go above and beyond what many farms do and use multi-champion show horses for our lessons. As mentioned on our
lesson page, our horses are patient but they know their job, and will only perform correctly when given the right cues.
This makes them, along with our instructor, the perfect team to help you achieve your goals of learning to ride correctly.
In addition, you can go forward to the show ring, if that is on your agenda, on the horse you have been learning with and
gain experience on tried and true show horses. Here, we'd like to take the opportunity to introduce them to you.

Kholt Forty-Five
Above is Kholt Forty-Five. He has extensive experience and Championship ribbons in Arabian
Western Pleasure, and was chosen as AHSA (now USEF) Western Pleasure Horse of the Year, as well as AHSA Halter Horse of the
Year for all his wins in the halter ring. He is still a wonderful western horse, which is enhanced by his dressage training.
He can also teach dressage riders at an advanced level due to his upper level schooling.

To the left is Newmar Sattaar+/, our beautiful stallion. Yes, we use a stallion for lessons - this
is a tribute to his gentle nature and impeccable manners. That said, he is reserved for our more experienced riders,
as he is highly schooled and highly energetic! Sattaar has numerous championships in English Pleasure, Country English
Pleasure, Show Hack, Hunter Pleasure, Dressage, Driving and Halter and has earned a Legion of Supreme Honor award. This
wonderful stallion is still performing, and loves to work!

Pilot
On the right and below is Pilot, our Hanovarian gelding. This dedicated, patient horse has taught countless people
to ride over his many years and he absolutely refuses to retire! In his younger years, he was a formidable dressage
competitor, showing to 4th level. Now age 25, he continues to serve as the perfect lunge lesson horse and a valued
teaching partner for several light duty lessons a week. The photo at right shows Pilot being ridden by our instructor, and
below by one of our young students.

Pilot
For new riders or those who may have bad habits and need to redevelop their seat, Pilot is the horse for you
to learn on. On the lunge, he listens closely to the instructor and will move to her voice commands, leaving the rider
to spend their time focusing on themselves. As a rider advances and comes off the lunge, Pilot intuitively cranks
up the learning curve to teach the rider the subtle nuances of the
half halt, along with bending aids and continued development of not only the seat, but the confidence of the rider as
well.

We are privledged to have such a highly trained, diverse selection of horses to work with us in our
quest to create thinking, effective riders. Some credit, of course, must be given to our trainer and instructor, as
she schools them all personally to respond properly to what is asked of them. However, the horses themselves are compassionate,
intelligent and forgiving of errors, but they definately know their jobs and will make sure the rider understands
when they have properly executed a movement. We are blessed to have each and every one of them, and they are treated
like the champions they are.
